Dr. Mohammed Aliu Momoh, PhD, PMP, FCA, FCS, FCTI, FCIArb, CPFA

Dr. Mohammed Aliu Momoh is a widely respected economist, governance expert, and institutional reform strategist with over 30 years of professional experience across public and private sectors, regulatory bodies, and development agencies in Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. His work bridges fiscal policy, capital markets regulation, public financial management, and national development planning, making him a vital asset to the Global Advisory Faculty of Sustainability Lens Limited.

He currently serves as Managing Partner at Ali Momoh & Co., and plays key governance roles including:

  • Independent Member, Investment Committees of the Marble Halal Commodities Fund (MHCF) and Marble Halal Fixed Income Fund (MHFIF)
  • Member, Tax Advisory Committee
  • Governing Council & Disciplinary Tribunal Member, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers

Dr. Momoh’s distinguished career includes:

  • Head of Risk and Regulation, Nigeria Stock Exchange (including Strategy, Broker-Dealer Regulation, and Listings Oversight)
  • Senior Finance Executive, Dangote Group (Group Financial Accountant, Regional Account Manager, Group Inventory Controller)

He has led or supported reform efforts in public debt management, fiscal policy development, budget reforms, climate finance, subnational governance, and enterprise restructuring, collaborating with governments, regulatory agencies, self-regulatory organisations, and development partners across West Africa.

Dr. Momoh holds a PhD in Finance and Economics from Leeds Beckett University (UK) and master’s degrees in Corporate Governance, Economics, and Legal Studies (Administrative and Policy Studies). He also holds a BSc in Banking and Finance, and has completed executive education at Lagos Business School, the IMF Institute, World Bank Institute (WBI), and WAIFEM.
